Willingen in the Upland

Whether cycling in spring, family holidays in summer, hiking in autumn, or skiing in winter – the abundance of holiday and leisure opportunities in the low mountain region is unique in Germany. In addition to numerous culinary offerings, Willingen with a variety of leisure attractions for families, groups and day trippers.

Ice skating fun in the ice rink, a hand-blown glass from the glass factory or a bike ride on the Downhill World Cup course, Willingen is actually a huge adventure playground for young and old.

Willingen-Connoisseurs appreciate the place especially for its numerous events, such as the annual Fis World Cup ski jumping or the bike festival, which attracts thousands of visitors.

For nature lovers and those seeking tranquility, a hike through the Hochheide Nature Reserve is pure enjoyment. Well-marked cycling and hiking trails, cozy huts and cafés, and small guesthouses with a personal touch invite you to relax.

Is there anyone who has never heard of Willingen I live in the small town of Schwalefeld, but I often go to WillingenBecause there's always something going on here! We go swimming and hiking, in the winter we ice skate, we ski, and I personally love cross-country skiing. Afterwards, we always enjoy a stop at a local inn. However, during the annual World Cup at the Mühlenkopfschanze, I prefer to stay home and watch the spectacle from the couch!

As a climatic health resort and Kneipp spa, Willingen especially through its prevention offers, which BKK-Active Weeks and the “Holiday for Caring Relatives” program, which won the Hessian Tourism Award in 2013.
Willingen means relaxation and adventure, wellness and going out, all at the same time, in the heart of Germany – Willingen is all I want!
