Sustainable travel

Environmental and climate protection are becoming increasingly important in society, as are ecological and social sustainability in travel, excursions, restaurant visits, and much more. Guests and locals expect responsible behavior from all tourism stakeholders.

Join us on the journey and contribute to a sustainable future with simple, implementable measures. Waldecker Land!

5 tips for sustainable travel:

1. Unplug at home
Check if you can turn off the standby mode of your appliances at home or unplug them, turn down the heating.

2. Use public transport
Is perhaps a How to Arrive by public transport? Can you use local public transport to get from A to B? Many of our hosts have the MyCardPlus or MyCardmobil for you free of charge in the program. With this all-inclusive card, you can not only use over 160 leisure facilities free of charge, but also use local public transport within the tariff zone of the North Hessian Transport Association.

3. Enjoy regional products
Whether it is food on site, accommodation, tours or souvenirs: “buy local“ – this way, sales remain local. Access seasonal, regional products .

4. Conserve resources
Don't change towels in the hotel every day, don't take long showers, turn off the lights when you leave the room, use reusable packaging - set an example for others.

5. Respectful treatment
We ask you to leave as few traces as possible during your stay: take your rubbish with you, always stay on paved paths when out in nature, follow the rules in protected areas such as the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park and the nature parks, and generally treat the environment with respect.

Thank you!
