Between Bad Arolsen and Korbach The rural districts of the municipality are Twistetal Located in a low mountain landscape, it offers relaxation in every season. Many local festivals offer welcome variety, bringing history to life.

The municipality is an attractive place to live with exceptional leisure and cultural activities as well as a lively local community with a vibrant club life.

Worth seeing are the medieval village churches in Berndorf and Twiste, as well as Germany's largest ant colony. The open-air theater in Twiste is visited by 7 to 000 spectators every summer.
