Erlebnisregion Edersee

It's wild, colorful and healthy here!

Erlebnisregion Edersee

To Erlebnisregion Edersee The national park communities include Edertal and Vohl, the national park cities Waldeck and frankenau, and Bad Wildungen, Lichtenfels and Fritzler in the Schwalm-Eder district.
The 27 km long Edersee, which gives this diverse region its name, is picturesquely situated in the middle of the Kellerwald-Edersee Nature and National Park. Here, too, the ancient beech forests, which extend into the UNESCOWorld Heritage Site and which are an ideal complement to the numerous opportunities in, on and around the Edersee.
The entire region offers a wealth of possibilities: hiking in the forest, cycling around the lake, water sports and wellness, action and relaxation, art and culture, half-timbered towns and spa architecture, churches and chapels, castles and ruins and so much more.

I've lived in Waldeck with my family for over 30 years. When our children were small, we spent every vacation here at home—there's so much to do with children here. Now they're grown up and live elsewhere, but my husband and I still enjoy our "very private" vacations by the lake... And the "kids" often and happily come to visit us...

A hike along the well-signposted themed trails in the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park or along the Kellerwaldsteig and Urwaldsteig quality hiking trails repeatedly offers fascinating views of the lake and the surrounding area. One postcard-perfect view after another! Like this photo at the "Kanzel" viewpoint!
