Directions
- The access route starts directly in the city center of Korbach near the Wolfgang Bonhage Museum. Korbach Its well-preserved old town boasts many half-timbered buildings and Gothic hall churches and warehouses. Worth seeing are St. Kilians Church with its richly sculpted south portal, the late Gothic St. Nicholas Church, and the award-winning Wolfgang Bonhage Museum Korbach. Or start at the important fossil site "Korbacher Spalte“ an expedition into the history of the earth, as Korbach was still close to the equator and the oldest ancestors of mammals and dinosaurs populated the earth.
The black-marked access path leads you through the old town, then through meadows and fields to the Eisenberg. The Eisenberg, with its Goldhausen visitor mine, castle ruins, and the Georg Viktor observation tower offering fantastic panoramic views, is the eastern entry point of the Sauerland Höhenflug trail. This is where the more than 250-kilometer-long long-distance hiking trail begins or ends.
