Hoher-Pön circular trail

Directions

First, we walk between the sports field and the tourist information office and take the zigzag path along the hillside towards Lohwald. Then we follow the Diemel River and continue on the other side to kilometer marker 43,0 of the Uplandsteig trail. At this point, we turn down a narrow path to the source of the Diemel. After a short rest, we cross the road on the other side and ascend to the Graf Stolberg Hut. Another good rest stop is possible here. We continue on a short, paved hiking trail to a small parking area, then turn right along the edge of the forest to the large crossroads "Auf'm Knoll" (left) / "Emmet" (opposite on the right). At this point, we turn left again to the next intersection, then turn right towards Hoher Pön.

Just 150 meters further on, we have to make a decision, because this is where the actual circular route begins: clockwise to the left or counterclockwise around the Hohen Pön (793 m). The path is very flat, so with no significant incline (38 m elevation gain), it's very easy to walk.
