Willingen-Usseln cross-country ski trail Kahle Pön (8)

Over a length of 5 km, the trail climbs steadily after a shorter ascent and a gentle descent, leading the cross-country skier past the source of the Diemel, which gives its name and part of its contents to the lake of the same name 15 km away.
Following the state border for a short distance along the ridge, the trail profile runs around the 700-meter contour line towards the "Kahle Pön" nature reserve. A challenging descent, riddled with curves, takes the cross-country skier down to approximately 600 meters. From there, the track, with short uphill and downhill sections, leads back to the starting point.

Recommended items include functional, weather-appropriate sportswear, a small backpack or waist pack, energy bars, a hydration belt, and sufficient fluids (water, tea).

By car via the B251 to Willingen (Upland)-Usseln, at the entrance/exit of the village turn towards Medebach/Winterberg into Düdinghäuser Straße

Free parking spaces at the Büller Höhe hiking parking lot

Bus/train to Usseln train station, then continue by bus or shared taxi (stop: Catholic Church or train station)
