The residents of Rattlar are themselves passionate hikers and offer their guests guided tours, well-maintained hiking trails, a water treading pool for health and well-being, and a children's playground for the little ones. Dedicated members of the tourist association ensure the appearance and equipment of the shelter and barbecue hut, and ensure that the numerous holiday benches remain comfortable and attractive.
The R1 trail leads along the Uplandsteig to the Dommelmühle mill, then through the Dommel valley, around the Hegekopf mountain and through Aartal and Elmeke back to Rattlar.

Directions
From Friedrichsplatz, head to the sports field, then continue along the Uplandsteig trail to the Dommelmühle mill. Approximately 300 meters past the mill, turn left into the Dommeltal valley. Follow this valley until just before the K 63 road, but turn left before reaching it and walk around the Hegekopf hill. Upon reaching the Pionierbrücken bridges, the trail leads through the Aartal valley and the Elmeke stream back to Rattlar.
