Hemmighausen is a predominantly agricultural village. Along the main street, you'll discover beautiful old half-timbered farmhouses. The street runs alongside the Diemel River and offers shady spots to linger under the many trees. The small village church is also worth seeing.
The trail leads through forest and across open fields around the Ellenberg hill. Two shelters along the way offer opportunities to rest. The route partly coincides with the Uplandsteig/Diemelsteig trail.

Directions
We follow the road towards Diemeltal/Usseln and turn right shortly after leaving the village. The path leads uphill through the forest, then along the second hillside trail through woods and fields to the hilltop between Diemeltal and Rattlar. Here we turn right (at the shelter) to the X16 hiking trail, continuing along the ridge to the shelter at Ölkesberg, from where we descend back down into the valley.

By car via the B251, between Usseln and Neerdar turn towards Diemeltalsperre onto the L3082 to Eimelrod and on to Hemmighausen.
