From Bömighausen, the trail leads towards Welleringhausen. It ascends the Grotenberg, which, due to past volcanic activity, consists mainly of diabass rock. From here, there is a beautiful panoramic view. The trail then descends through an idyllic side valley of the Needarbach stream. The Kneipp facility offers an opportunity for healthy refreshment. The Grotenberg circular trail partially follows the Uplandsteig hiking trail.

From the Neerdar Bridge in the village center, the path leads gradually uphill and then almost level along the connecting path between Bömighausen and Welleringhausen. Shortly before reaching Welleringhausen, turn right; the path leads hikers to the Grotenberg hill, from where you descend through a beautiful side valley of the Neerdarbach stream (with a Kneipp facility) back to Bömighausen. The Grotenberg circular route partially follows the Uplandsteig trail.
