Rocky peak covered in deciduous forest and moss with a view of the Diemelsee – a place that seems closer to heaven and offers a clear view of what is essential.

At the foot of the St. Muffert cliff, the idea of a cable car emerges, like those found in amusement parks: from the shore of the Diemel reservoir up to the summit, with a parking lot and snack bar at the bottom, and a panoramic café at the top.

However, such a railway would have required cutting a wide swath through the forest. While the ascent would have been effortless and completed in just a few minutes, the price would have been high: the destruction of a valuable natural habitat – and the loss of those quiet discoveries that make a hike truly meaningful.
This plan did indeed once exist. Fortunately, it was abandoned.
