This circular hiking trail is one of the 16 "Kellerwald Jewels" and is a highlight tour on the steep slopes of Lake Edersee: past Waldeck Castle, the Kanzel viewpoints, to the Eder Dam and back again.

The "Kellerwald Jewels" are characterized by their scenic forest trails and breathtaking views. These carefully selected routes range in length from approximately 4,5 km to almost 15 km. If you enjoyed this hike, feel free to discover other gems of the Kellerwald and Edersee region.

The Schlossberg Route 2 follows the Urwaldsteig trail past old city walls with views of Lake Edersee. Through ancient stunted beech forests on the Ziegenberg, the trail winds along the steep slope to the pulpit. It offers a magnificent view of Lake Edersee, Waldeck Castle, and a little further on, the imposing dam.
