5,5 km long circular route from the Schanzenberg nature reserve to the Marbecktal and back.

Two circular hiking trails with benches and information panels provide access to the Marbecktal recreational area. On the M1 and M2 circular trails, you'll discover botanical features on the Marbeck slopes and on the Schanzenberg, which have been part of the European Natura 2008 protected area since 2000. Numerous information panels provide information about the flora and fauna, as well as geological features of the region.

Directions

For a more extensive hike, the Marbeckrunde M1 can be extended to the Schanzenberg Nature Reserve. There are two places where you can leave the M1 and join the M2 route. You will pass the "Verlobungshütte" (engagement hut) and the KorbachThe trail leads from the airfield to the Schanzenberg nature reserve. A calcareous grassland has developed here over many years. The Marbeck slopes and Schanzenberg have been part of the European Natura 2008 protected area since 2000! This prestigious distinction is only awarded to biotopes worthy of protection and particularly outstanding for Europe's biodiversity. M2 can also be walked as a separate, nearly 5,5-kilometer circular trail; an entry point is available above the dog training area in the Schanzenberg area.
