Wide panoramic views, deep enchanted forests, legendary places and the highest elevation of the Burgwalds.

Welcome to the northern Burgwald. Look forward to wide panoramic views, deep enchanted forests, legendary places and the highest elevation of the Burgwalds – the Knebelsrod at 443 m. The viewpoint there is ideal for a short break, with a magnificent view included.

Since time immemorial, the Frankenberg Pentecost Festival has begun on the Friday before Pentecost with the magnificent traditional march to the Listenbach stream. Follow this tradition and start counter-clockwise to reach the Listenbach through beautiful woodland sections.

On your way to the Listenbach, where you can admire the flora and fauna of the BurgwaldTo experience it up close, you will pass, among other things, the Hexentanzplatz (Witches' Dance Floor) - this is said to have been a pagan sacrificial site.

Through lush green forest, you eventually reach Willersdorf, a district of the Philipp Soldan town of Frankenberg (Eder), and gradually ascend to the highlight of the tour: In the distance, the view gradually opens up to the Knebelsrod viewing platform. At 443 meters, you have reached not only the highest point of the tour, but also the highest elevation in the area. Burgwalds reached. Time to take a short break.

Magnificent views await you on the return journey to Friedrichshausen as well. You can admire the picturesque location of this district of Frankenberg (Eder) in the low mountain range landscape from several higher vantage points along the way.

At the end of the tour, let your gaze wander into the distance one last time before you return to your starting point.
