The Blue Bird Tour is part of Willingen's MTB trails for children. These are so well connected and signposted that parents and children can decide which route they want to take and how long the route should be while they're out on the trail.
Important: These difficulty profiles are only guidelines – they can, of course, vary from child to child. Children should not ride alone here. Mountain bikes are required in all cases. Riding the trails is at your own risk. Sometimes hikers or even motorized traffic may share the same paths.Good to know

The Blue Bird route is truly designed for beginners, with a gentle downhill route via the Große Grube coal-fired power station and the Lütteke Feld to another mountain hut, "Am Streit." Here, you have the option of switching to the Red Bird route.
Our blue bird takes us further along the border between North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse to the Hildfelder Höhe. Here, there's the opportunity to ride the Black Rabbit, but be careful, it's technically very difficult.
We fly down into the valley on a beautiful descent, passing the famous Mühlenkopfschanze ski jump. A small ice cream at Café Aufwind awaits as a reward before returning to our starting point in Willingen goes.

Our tip
- Since this tour is almost all downhill from the Hildfelder Höhe, the tour can be extended with the black hares, which is very technical, or you can follow the red hares in the valley.
