It is typical for the hare to make detours, so this tour offers many possibilities

This tour is part of Willingen's MTB trails for children. These are so well connected and signposted that parents and children can decide which route they want to take and how long the route should be during the tour.

Important: These difficulty profiles are only guidelines – they can, of course, vary from child to child. Children should not ride alone here. Mountain bikes are required in all cases. Riding the trails is at your own risk. Sometimes hikers or even motorized traffic may share the same paths.

Directions

Red Rabbit Tour Description: From the visitor center, we take a short climb below the fairytale park into the Stryck hiking area, past the Mühlenkopf ski jump, where we cross the ski jump exit, and then follow the idyllic Itter stream. At the end of the Strycktal valley, the rabbits split; we can either continue on the black trail or follow the red rabbit tour. This climbs a short distance to the left after a mushroom shelter. We follow the red rabbit on a flat uphill slope. We pass a mountain hut called "Zur schönen Aussicht" (Beautiful View), which offers a fantastic panorama over the Sauerland and into the deep valleys. Without much effort, we reach the Graf Stollberg Hut, which, with its spectacular view of the Sauerland, is an inviting place to stop for a break. Behind the hut, we follow a natural path to the Diemel spring. A little "pampering" with the water, as the Willinger says, and our tour continues.

Behind the guesthouse "Das Orange Schaf" in Usseln, the red Hasentour climbs a very, very steep 200 meters. There's an alternative route, following the blue Hasentour, but you'd miss a beautiful single trail. The next and final highlight is the EWF biathlon facility. With a little luck, you can watch the young athletes running and shooting. So, now you're almost there. One more steep climb to get out of the stadium area, and then it's a comfortable ride to Willingen However, you should expect traffic from the Stryck entrance onwards.
