The tour begins in the half-timbered town of Frankenberg (Eder) with its magnificent sights, most notably the over 500-year-old, ten-towered half-timbered town hall. Following the Eder Cycle Path, the route leads you through the Allendorf districts of Rennertehausen and Battenfeld, onward to the health resort of Battenberg-Dodenau, until you reach the town of Hatzfeld (Eder) via Reddighausen (the Hatzfeld Castle ruins are worth seeing). There, the R8 leaves the Eder Cycle Path and also our EDERBERGLAND holiday region.
