Mysterious ramparts and stones in the middle of the forest, magnificent panoramic views over the Ohm valley and centuries of history characterize this special hiking tour on the southern edge of the Burgwalds.

Please stay on the hiking trail secured by the bomb disposal unit, as the surrounding area may still be contaminated with munitions. Do not collect mushrooms or enter the forest.

Stations along the way outline the eventful history of the area, which can be traced back to pre-Christian times. The trail leads through orchards on springy nature paths to magnificent viewpoints offering panoramic views of Cölbe-Reddehausen, the Ohm Valley, and Amöneburg. Ancient mixed forest surrounds the summit of the Eibenhardt hill, which is encircled by a mysterious stone circle with a diameter of approximately 400 meters. This is likely a Celtic ringfort. It is therefore not surprising that the highest point on the Eibenhardt is referred to as "Riesenhöfchen" (Giant's Courtyard) in various documents. Enchanting paths lead you to another legendary stone structure, known locally as the "Riesenstuhl" (Giant's Chair). Indeed, the collection of stones strongly resembles an armchair and invites you to take a relaxing break.
