The Hanseatic City Korbach, the town of Waldeck and the municipality of Edertal invite you to a tour on one of the most spectacular cycle paths in Hesse. Discover the Waldecker Land on the former route of the Ederseebahn, which once connected the Ruhr area and Amsterdam with the spa town Bad Wildungen verb.
The fully paved cycle path, with a maximum gradient of two percent, is easily manageable for all cyclists. Places to stop for refreshments along the way offer sustenance and relaxation should a break be desired. Along the route, numerous relics bear witness to the railway's past: picturesque bridges, old stations, two tunnels, and above all, the 28-meter-high and 180-meter-long viaduct in Waldeck-Selbach, a highlight of the tour.
The starting point for the Edersee Railway cycle path is located on the southern outskirts of the city. Korbach. Here you will find good parking and rest areas (also for motorhomes), a hose vending machine, a repair station and information boards with details about the city. Korbach and to the cycle paths around the city. A restored historic locomotive and old signaling equipment are reminders of the old railway line.

- The average gradient of the entire route is just 2%. This is a fantastic experience, not just for families with children. In addition to the two endpoints of the trail, there are other starting points, for example, in the surrounding villages or at the signposted parking areas. Why not round off your trip with a visit to the historic old town of Korbach with its attractive pedestrian zone or a detour to one of the picturesque villages along the route. Those who have completed the entire route can refresh themselves with a cool dip in Lake Edersee!

- A loop of Korbach (possibly arriving by train) via Edertal-Buhlen, then continuing west on the Eder cycle path to Herzhausen, from here a short train ride back to KorbachThis makes for a great, low-gradient day trip and round trip!
