Follow the Diemel River on the approximately 110-kilometer-long Diemel Cycle Path through the lovely Diemel Valley – from its source in WillingenFrom Usseln to its confluence with the Rhine in Bad Karlshafen. The well-maintained, easy-to-navigate riverside cycle path offers diverse natural scenery: from the heights of the Waldecker Uplands and the nature park. Diemelsee across gentle, low mountain landscapes to the Weser estuary.
Take your time to explore charming half-timbered villages and historic towns along the way. Discover regional stories, take advantage of the diverse offerings, or indulge in culinary delights.
The range of leisure activities is vast: Visit Willingen, relax at DiemelseeExplore the historic town of Marsberg or take a break at the charming spots along the route. Stroll through the nearly 1000-year-old Hanseatic city of Warburg, immerse yourself in the Muschelkalk sea near Liebenau, enjoy the fresh air in the health resort of Trendelburg, or relax in Bad Karlshafen.

Once you've climbed Padberg, a pleasant rest area awaits you, complete with a drinks fridge and battery charging station. After that, the route is mostly flat.
Consistent signage – a cyclist depicted with colorful circles – guides you along the route. The ammonite in the front wheel is a distinctive feature of the logo. Intermediate signs (red bicycles on a white background in North Rhine-Westphalia, green bicycles on a white background in Hesse) indicate the correct route of the Diemel Cycle Path. At intersections, arrow signs show you your nearby and longer destinations, along with the distances involved.
