With a length of around 12 kilometers, this “ARS NATURA circular route X 8a” section is particularly suitable for day trips. Ten works of art decorate the circular hiking trail. It's a good place to "sniff" before exploring the entire "ARS NATURA" on "Schusters Rappen". The start of the circular hiking trail is in the spa park at the Kurhaus in Bad Zwesten, opposite the lower entrance at the Kurhaus.
As with the previous sections of "ARS-NATURA", the careful dialogue between nature and art is groundbreaking. The circular route to Wenzigerode offers wonderful, wide views of the low mountain landscape, dense forest landscape where you can find impressive old trees, the charming half-timbered architecture of the spa town of Bad Zwesten and the pristine nature of the Kellerwaldsteig. The healing and mineral springs as well as the wooded surroundings of the Kellerwald suggested the continuation of the artistic focus on the regenerative powers of nature and human recreation.

A particularly large catchment area can be reached by bus line 410: These buses run between Borken and Bad Wildungen (here DB connections) every hour and include Bad Zwesten and Oberurff on the halfway line!

Lines 407 and 411 complement Bad Zwesten and Oberurff on the Hessian school days.
AST - call share taxis

Our tip
Stone-making contemporary witnesses – the boundary stones. Zwesten was once a border town between the Landgraviate of Hesse and Waldeck. Many boundary stones in the Zwesten forests still bear witness to this today. In the Wenzigerode area there were significant border disputes between Hesse and Waldeck for centuries. A large number of boundary stones from several eras can be found in the area of the art hiking trail.
