The circular hiking trail is one of the 16 "Kellerwald Jewels" and offers approximately 7 km of nature trails through beech forests, ancient gnarled oaks, a wild garlic field, and magnificent views from the Eschenberg and Böhlenberg mountains. Ideal for nature and history lovers!

Welcome to the Aarmühle circular trail 1, which starts at the Aarmühle hiking car park and takes you on an exciting and not too lengthy 7,3 km hike. This varied hiking trail is a real highlight for nature lovers and offers a variety of scenic beauties.

The circular trail is one of the 16 "Kellerwald Jewels," distinguished by their scenic forest paths and breathtaking views. These carefully selected routes range in length from approximately 4,5 km to almost 15 km.

The trail begins on natural paths and leads along the ridge through a picturesque beech forest up to the Eschenberg. Here you will find impressive old gnarled oaks that enrich the forest with their rustic charm. Especially in spring, a large field of wild garlic is transformed into a green, fragrant oasis that enchants every hiker.

On the first section, the circular trail runs parallel to the Lichtenfels Panorama Trail and thus offers breathtaking views early on. The summit of the Eschenberg is marked by an impressive summit cross and invites you to take a short break to enjoy the peace and quiet and the view.

A short descent then takes you to the Böhlenberg, from where you can enjoy fantastic views of the Eschenberg, the surrounding towns of Immighausen, Goddelsheim and the mountains of the Kellerwald. These panoramas are a true feast for the eyes and a highlight of every hike.

Before the path leads you back to the hiking car park, you pass the historic Eschenbeck estate. Today owned by the municipality, the land has been reforested and fish ponds have been created. A memorial plaque commemorates the former estate and tells its story.

The Aarmühle circular trail 1 offers a varied landscape of dense beech forest, ancient gnarled oaks, a small heathland with flowering heather on the Böhlen and far-reaching views of the surrounding landscape. Benches along the way, especially at the summit cross on the Eschenberg and on the Böhlenberg, invite you to take a well-deserved rest.

This circular trail is one of the 16 "Kellerwald Jewels," distinguished by its scenic forest paths and breathtaking views. On routes ranging from approximately 4,5 km to almost 15 km, nature lovers can unwind amidst the enchanting landscape of the Edersee region.

Come and experience the beauty of the Edersee region on the Aarmühle circular trail 1 – a hike that perfectly combines nature, history and breathtaking views.

At the foot of the Böhlenberg towards Goddelsheim lies the Goddelsheim plateau, a resting place for many migratory birds. There is a lot to observe here, especially in autumn and spring.
