Wild Animal Park Edersee

Zoo/Animal Park
MeineCardPlus leisure operation
MeineCardPlus-Leisure Operation Nature

In the Edersee Wildlife Park, guests can experience native and formerly native wild animals from European beech forests.

Red deer, wolves, eagle owls, garden dormouse and many more - a total of 21 different native species can be admired and experienced in the Edersee Wildlife Park, a facility of the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park.

A highlight is the air show at the Greifenwarte Edersee. Against the backdrop of Edersee with its dam and Waldeck Castle, falcons, kites and buzzards perform magnificent flight maneuvers. The air show at the Greifenwarte Edersee takes place from March to October every day except Mondays at 11:00 a.m. and 15:00 p.m. The residents of the wildlife park can be observed at any time of the year. The 2,5 kilometer long circular route through the wildlife park is suitable for people with wheelchairs and families with strollers.

Less experienced wheelchair users or people with walking difficulties or unsteady gait can borrow an electric scooter free of charge from the BuchenHaus. This means you can experience a tour of the Edersee Wildlife Park on your own. Reservation is recommended.

Please note that dogs are not allowed into any of our facilities. At the Edersee Wildlife Park, dog boxes are available free of charge near the entrance. Feel free to speak to the checkout staff.

NVV-ServcieTelephone: 0800-939-0800

All connections including "AST-Taxi" (call-and-ride taxi) connections can be viewed in detail via the NVV timetable information - www.nvv.de/fahrplanauskunft

Tip for your smartphone - download the "NVV Mobil" app in the respective app store before the tour!

In general, the "AST taxi" should also be included in the planning. With the call-and-collect taxis, the NVV ensures mobility on routes that are not in such high demand. Instead of taking the bus, you travel in normal taxis or rental cars. AST taxis also have fixed timetables - you only have to register your travel request by phone (usually) up to 30 minutes before the journey. Also remember that AST taxis only run when there are no normal buses running at the same time.
