Landau Castle

Tip:
Castle

The old mining town of Landau in Waldeck-Frankenberg looks back on a history of over 700 years.

History is preserved, lived, and loved here to this day. The heart of the picturesque old town is the Waldeck Count's Castle, which was converted from an old fortress into a palace in 1290. With the greatest possible respect for historical monument protection, the castle and its neighboring historic buildings have been extensively renovated since 2014 and awakened from their slumber. For this, the Waldeck-Frankenberg district awarded Landau Castle the Special Prize for Monument Protection.
The Count's Castle, with its integrated wedding room and castle garden, is adjacent to the ultramodern Hotel Brunnenhaus Schloss Landau and its tithe barn. Combine your visit with a culinary highlight and be enchanted by the fairytale setting.
