Quernst Chapel

The Quernst Chapel stands on the site of the former Quernst Church. It is a meeting place between people and nature, a place for reflection and inner contemplation. The message is: “We come from everyday life, pause and sense what is unfamiliar to us beyond the chapel - a new wilderness that is emerging. Restraint, awe and respect should accompany us from here on out. Are we ready for this?”

The architecture is based on the silhouette of a protective shepherd. Greywacke from Dainrode, Sauerland slate, spruce and larch wood from the Kellerwald are combined with flower-like colored windows to create a work of art.
