Since 2006, the former spa museum has been housed in the promenade hall in the spa gardens, built in 1928/29, where, following the extensive renovation and redesign of the historic building, the newly designed medicinal water dispensing area has also been located. The first section of the museum presents Wildungen's importance as a health resort and spa since the 16th century. This development was facilitated by several local mineral springs, which were considered particularly effective in the field of urology. Several bathhouse reenactments illustrate the development of the spa treatment up to 1960. The drinking cure, which in the past was practiced in Wildungen by numerous high-ranking noblemen, is also discussed. A separate section provides information on the now famous "Bad Wildungen Operation" (19th/20th century) with its special methods and instruments. The successes of the Bad Wildungen An extensive collection of kidney and bladder stones documents the medical methods and applications practiced there. The second section of the museum focuses on the development of the spa town and the influence of the spa business on the economic and social life of the former farming town. Here, for example, life in the old town is contrasted with the more sophisticated activities of the spa district. The spa architecture, entertainment in the theater or at the roulette table, spa music, and other cultural offerings of the spa town are also discussed in more detail. Shops and crafts such as milliners, who fulfilled the special needs of spa guests in the town, are also presented. An extensive collection of souvenirs complements this section. Special exhibitions are shown on the upper floor of the Wandelhalle and in the cloisters.
