The church in KorbachAlleringhausen is a significant landmark of the small Waldeck village and closely linked to the history of its most famous son. Friedrich Ludwig Peter, later known as Louis Peter, was born here on February 21, 1841. He founded a rubber goods factory, which later developed into today's Continental AG. 

In 1905, Louis Peter donated a church to his hometown – built on the site of his birthplace. The church was constructed in the Neo-Gothic style, characterized by pointed-arch windows, delicate details, and a slender tower. It was solemnly consecrated on July 13, 1905. Among those attending the consecration were Prince Friedrich of Waldeck and Pyrmont and the regional bishop, underscoring the church's special significance for the region.

However, the ecclesiastical history of Alleringhausen stretches back further. A chapel in the village is mentioned in a document as early as 1497 – prior to that, Alleringhausen had no church of its own. With the introduction of the Reformation in the County of Waldeck from 1526 onwards, the Protestant faith also took hold in Alleringhausen from around 1535.

Since 2018, Alleringhausen has belonged to the parish of Eimelrod-Rhena and is now part of the Upland parish.
