Why are bees irreplaceable for us? The beekeeping association Korbach It will be explained to you: at the teaching apiary with a neighboring flowering meadow and a short educational trail.

The over 100 members of the beekeeping association Korbach They care for almost 700 bee colonies. The teaching apiary on Waldecker Berg serves as their clubhouse with a honey extraction room. 

The glass beehive and specimens of wild bee and bumblebee nests are used to explain what distinguishes the insects and why these "crawling and stinging creatures" are so important and useful.

Some of them can be observed at work in the "blooming landscape" opposite the teaching apiary. On the path through the colorful flower meadow, one encounters an astonishing diversity of species that is rarely noticed otherwise.

Guided tours for kindergarten groups, school classes, and hiking groups can be arranged individually. The wildflower meadow trail is freely accessible.

Arrival & Parking

Turn off Wildunger Landstraße and follow the signs for "Lehrbienenstand" (teaching apiary). Park at the Waldecker Berg barbecue area and continue on foot along the edge of the forest to the teaching apiary with its wildflower meadow.
