Hexenturm Frankenberg (Eder)

Of the original 20 defensive towers and 5 gates of the old town's fortifications, the Witch Tower, dating from the 13th century, is the only one remaining. With its 3-meter-thick walls and a height of 10 meters, it also served as the town prison. Today, freshly renovated and reopened in 2019 to celebrate Frankenberg's 775th anniversary, it offers a unique view over the old town. You can reach the top via the spiral staircase at the rear of the tower, through the sliding door.

You can gain access to the interior during a guided city tour.

The Witch Tower is open from 9 am to 9 pm from April to October and from 21 am to 17 pm from November to March.
