Georg-Viktor Tower

Castle

On the summit of the 560 meter high Eisenberg, above the KorbachOn the plateau, there is the “Georg-Viktor-Tower”, which is visible from afar and bears its name in honour of the Prince of Waldeck and Pyrmont.

The tower, built in 1905, measures 22,5 meters high and offers a magnificent panoramic view from Korbach Over the Habichtswald forest, the Ederberge mountains, the Kellerwald forest, and all the way to the Sauerland mountains. Panoramic panels explain the destinations on the horizon.

From the tower, you also have a good view of the exposed foundations of the ruins of the 13th-century Count's Castle in Waldeck. The digital Georg-Viktor-Turm PANORAMA shows the reconstructed castle in full bloom and virtually recreates past sea and desert landscapes from Earth's history.

Other worthwhile destinations in the immediate vicinity: Gold Visitor Mine, "Goldspur Eisenberg" educational trail, forest sports trail and Eisenberg Hut.
