Explore the landscape and the world of life 250 million years ago. Korbach The rocks found here are the geological memory of this ancient landscape. You can learn how they were formed and what they tell us about past times in the outdoor area of the Lime Tower.

Learn about one of the oldest industries in the world: the extraction and processing of limestone. The exhibition on the ground floor of the Lime Tower shows how the industrial use of limestone began here in the quarry over 100 years ago.

Would you like to know how vertebrates managed to colonize the entire Earth, underwater, on land, and in the air? Or why around Korbach Want to grow orchids? Then visit our exhibition on the top floor of the Kalkturm.

Visit the oldest Korbachhe: Procynosuchus, the “KorbachThe dachshund is, of course, not a dog, but a mammal-like reptile – one of our oldest ancestors, so to speak. Korbacher Spalte You can find out how the rocks and their fossil content were formed in the information pavilion in the quarry.
