EWF Biathlon Arena
Following the construction of the 2,5 km long illuminated roller ski track in 1997, which offers biathletes and skiers optimal training conditions in both summer and winter, a biathlon facility with 2001 small-caliber shooting ranges was built in 15. To enable this shooting range to be used for competitions, ten additional target ranges and a prefabricated functional building were added in 2007 by the Fingerhaus company.
The functional building of the EWF Biathlon Arena serves as a storage area, and features restrooms and changing rooms. Of particular note are the wraparound windows that allow the judges to overlook large sections of the biathlon course.
In order to ensure optimal training and competition conditions in winter, further investments were made in 2009 in a snowmaking pond and snowmaking system, so that the entire course can be covered with snow even in sub-zero temperatures.
Biathlon shooting for groups
Have you always wanted to try aiming at the five round targets like a biathlete with a small-bore rifle? At the EWF Biathlon Arena's shooting range, you can do it – both prone and standing. After a brief introduction to using a small-bore rifle, groups can try their luck at the biathlon folding targets 5 meters away. Information and prices are available from the ski club. Willingen.
If that's not enough, you can also try roller skiing. Nordic skating is the new sport, a combination of inline skating and cross-country skiing. The advantage of this sport is its independence from weather and terrain. A Nordic skating taster course is available for groups of 10 or more people and includes the necessary equipment, instruction, and biathlon rifle shooting.
