In Bringhausen, near the Bring (Brunic) castle complex, first mentioned in 1196, 69 farms were flooded by the lake. The church was demolished and rebuilt at its present location.
The foundation walls, a cellar vault, parts of a castle moat, traces of the access road, parts of the Eder Bridge built in 1897, and burial grounds are visible from Alt-Bringhausen at low water levels. The graves of the old cemetery have been covered with concrete and reappear at a water level of 231,75 m above sea level.

Instead of taking the bus, you can travel here in normal taxis or rental cars. AST also have fixed timetables - you just have to register your wish to travel by telephone (usually) up to 30 minutes before the journey. Also remember that AST only run when there are no normal buses running at the same time.
