CD Rauch Birthplace
Christian Daniel Rauch was born in the lackey's house on January 2, 1777. The small complex in the former hop gardens consists of a residential building and an outbuilding. Tools, examples of his work, and a selection of portraits from the 19th century convey an impression of the sculptor's personality. Drawings provide information on the creation processes of sculptures, and the travel diaries from his trips to Italy in 1804 and 1829 document his engagement with Italian monuments.
