Kilianstollen visitor mine
During the tour, comprehensive information is provided on the geology, the copper deposit and its formation, mining techniques, the smelting of the ore, as well as the hard work of the miners and their living conditions.
A tour lasts approximately 2 hours and includes a ride on the mine train. Depending on the number of participants and specific interests, it can be shorter or longer.
It is recommended to wear warm clothing and sturdy shoes during the tour (temperature in the tunnel is approximately 10 °C).
Tours generally take place every Saturday and Sunday at 14 p.m. from April to October. During the North Rhine-Westphalia school holidays, tours also take place every Wednesday at 14 p.m.
Group tours (such as school trips, children's birthdays, club and company outings) can be booked daily throughout the year by prior arrangement.
