At the entrance to Werber Bucht stood the Bericher Hütte (Smelter Ironworks) and a dairy. The Bericher Hütte (Smelter Ironworks) was abandoned in 1875 and was thus already a ruin before the dam was built. In the 18th and 19th centuries, iron ore mined near Adorf was transported to the Bericher Hütte and processed there. Up to 10 wagon loads per day were transported over the Waldecker Berg near Korbach transported to the Berich hammer and steel works.
Remains of the buildings are at a water level of 223,00 m above sea level. NN to see.
