Lookout tower on the Homberg

Viewpoint/lookout tower

Between Bad Wildungen The 518-meter-high Homberg mountain lies between the villages of Heinsberg and Reinhardshausen. A viewing tower offers a magnificent panoramic view.

The tower was built in 1882 from rubble stones. A spiral staircase leads to the platform, from which you have a wonderful view in three directions: from here, in good weather, you can see Waldeck Castle, the Weidelsburg, the Hercules in the Kassel Mountains, the Hoher Meißner and the Knüllgebirge.

The Homberg is densely overgrown with old beech trees.

Two circular paths lead around the Homberg: the Lower Homberg circular path W4 and the Upper Homberg circular path W5, on which you can also reach the observation tower.

The “Reinhardshöhe” hiking car park in the town of Reinhardshausen, which is characterized by clinics, is recommended as a starting point for the climb.
