Fishing in Hatzfeld (Eder)

Whether day tickets are issued depends on the weather. Only visitors to the town of Hatzfeld (Eder) and its districts receive day tickets.

A maximum of 2 day fishing permits can be purchased per person and stay.

The issuing office for all guest routes and the general contact person is
Hatzfeld (Eder) city administration.

The individual routes are:

GUEST ROUTE I (HATZFELD-CITY CENTER)
Downstream from the inlet of the H & V company's ditch (inlet Sonsenbach) to the beginning of the Eder bridge in Hatzfeld, corresponding to 800 m of the Eder course

GUEST ROUTE II (HATZFELD-HOLZHAUSEN)
Downstream from the railway bridge above Holzhausen to the weir crown of the Obermühle in Holzhausen, approximately 500 m along the Eder.

GUEST ROUTE III (HATZFELD-REDDIGHAUSEN)
Upstream from the crown of the Ederwehr Reddighausen to the first side ditch, corresponding to 350 m of the Eder course (almost the entire barrage of the Reddighausen weir)

All guest routes are marked by green signs with white lettering.
The operational and mill ditches are not considered guest reaches. These reaches are generally not fished and are used exclusively for raising juvenile fish.

Unlimited catches of eel and chub are permitted, and three brown or rainbow trout per day are permitted, subject to the legal minimum size. All other fish species, as well as crabs and mussels, are strictly protected and may not be caught. Two hand lines are generally permitted for eel fishing.
All withdrawals must be recorded directly on the back of the permit, which must be returned to one of the issuing offices after the end of the fishing season.

Multi-day or weekly tickets are not issued.
