Water is your element? Then the Edersee is your paradise. It's just a stone's throw from our house to the waterfront. Here on the south bank you will find a jetty, a beach, a sailing school and boat rentals. Ideal for young and old, for canoeists, sailors, surfers, divers, rowers, pedal boaters, inland boatmen, anglers... By the way, the Edersee is the second largest reservoir in Germany in terms of area and one of the cleanest lakes in Hesse. With its rotating winds, it is also considered a challenging regatta area. If you don't want to be a captain yourself, you can simply have the ferries or passenger ships chauffeur you across the water.
Experience nature – on a family vacation, on a school trip or on a short vacation
Get up close and personal with nature: discover the graceful low mountain landscape that surrounds us. Geographically, it belongs to the Rhenish Slate Mountains. Spectacular natural beauties await you on the Urwaldsteig, for example. The best thing to do is lace up your hiking boots and head out. Peripheral hikers and mountain bikers also find their territory here. You can discover the Eder on foot or by bike - the most pristine river landscape of this size that Hesse has to offer.
Hiking with us will be a fabulous adventure for families: on the fairytale path between the valley and mountain stations of the Waldecker Bergbahn. Want to spend a day adventuring around the house? Then go to the adventure playground on the lakeshore or to the campfire in the evening.
School trips for researchers and explorers
Whether grade 1 or 13: We have exciting programs for all grade levels. Go on a GPS treasure hunt, a themed hike or a bat excursion. Hoist the sails on the Edersee during a course at the sailing school or hone your team building and media skills with our adventure educators and trainers - we also offer application training. Of course, fun and excursions are also part of it: in the nearby wildlife park there is a fascinating bird of prey show and the summer toboggan run invites you to daring descents. You can relax in our outdoor area with football, beach volleyball, table tennis, a barbecue, a campfire or a disco evening.
