A historical journey through Frankenberg (Eder) ...
In 1895, Frankenberg became Prussian, and Kaiser Wilhelm II opened the Kaiser Wilhelm Canal, which connected the Baltic Sea with the North Sea. The transformation from an agrarian to an industrial region began.
Join Mariechen on a stroll through the old town shortly before the turn of the century.
Experience how people thought and lived back then. A guided tour with a wink, a touch of humor, and little surprises.
The guided tour lasts approximately 1,5 hours. A circular route of about 2 km has been laid out in the old town of Frankenberg. The route can be adapted to be barrier-free. However, please note the cobblestones and the slightly hilly terrain.
