Guided tour/visit

Immerse yourself in the history of the Earth – in a time 250 million years ago, when the Hanseatic city Korbach was still by the sea.

The fossil site "Korbacher Spalte" is the oldest fossil fissure in Europe. Here you will learn about the oldest ancestors of mammals and dinosaurs. Learn how vertebrates managed to colonize the entire planet underwater, on land, and in the air. We will also show you the importance of limestone for the development of the city. Korbach.

The tour begins in the information pavilion in the quarry at the Korbacher Spalte and ends in the neighboring GeoFoyer Kalkturm Korbach.

The guided tour ticket entitles you to reduced admission to the Wolfgang Bonhage Museum in Korbach.
