With us you can stay in the middle of the most beautiful nature reserves! 
In Germany, overnight stays in the wild are only permitted at designated sites. The Sauerland Trekking Park offers nine camps for multi-day hikes on the Diemelsteig and Uplandsteig quality hiking trails. Sleeping accommodations can be booked under the starry sky. www.trekkingpark.de. Sauerland Trekking Park

A total of 13 trekking camps are available for multi-day hikes on the two hiking trails, Diemelsteig and Uplandsteig. The sites in Sauerland Trekking Park They are located in both Hesse and North Rhine-Westphalia and are only accessible on foot via the Diemelsteig and Uplandsteig quality hiking trails. Hikers are self-sufficient and must bring their own food and drinks.

What makes these places special?

Each natural campsite offers great views of the nature park Diemelsee and the adjacent Sauerland Rothaargebirge Nature Park. Trekkers will experience beech and spruce forests, semi-open woodlands, views over expansive high heathland, springs, vast meadows and fields, wildlife observation, sunrises and sunsets, glimpses of the starry sky, and much more...

To ensure that the local wildlife is not disturbed during the winter months, the 9 trekking sites can be used between April 01st and November 15th can be booked. Use of the trekking sites in between is not possible.

Trekking sites in the Kellerwald-Edersee Nature Park

In 2021, three trekking sites were established in the Kellerwald-Edersee Nature Park in cooperation with the town of Lichtenfels. These sites are located along the approximately 68-kilometer-long Lichtenfels Panorama Trail and are easily accessible as overnight accommodations between daily stages of the hike. Each site is equipped with space for several tents (maximal The campsite includes three 2-person tents and an eco-friendly composting toilet. Additionally, embedded stone slabs allow for safe cooking with gas or spirit stoves. Two of the three campsites also offer spacious, covered seating areas.

In 2025, 4 more trekking sites were opened along the Kellerwaldsteig trail:
The sites “Elmsberg” (Edertal-Kleinern), “Lärenberg” (Waldeck Nieder-Werbe), “Fuchsloch Asel” (Vöhl-Asel) and “Louisendorf” (Frankenau-Louisendorf) are located up to 25 kilometers apart and are therefore easily accessible for hikers in a day's hike.
