Nature Park Kellerwald-Edersee
Visitors can expect a unique landscape in the Kellerwald-Edersee Nature Park.
Nature and mankind have contributed equally to its design. Deep, tranquil beech forests are crisscrossed by narrow streams. They lead into the diverse cultural landscape of colorful meadows and hedges.
Nestled in this landscape and surrounded by steep, warm slopes with gnarled oak forests, the clear, blue-green Edersee winds its way. The highest elevation in the nature park, at 675 meters, is the Wüstegarten in the southern part of the Kellerwald forest.
With its extensive forests, the Kellerwald offers ideal conditions for hikers. In addition to rare plants and animals such as the whitish pink, eagle owl, and black stork, raccoons, ravens, red deer, fallow deer, and mouflon can also be observed during the day with a little luck.
