Accessibility Statement

The Tourist Service Waldeck-Ederbergland GmbH strives to make the website www.waldecker-land.de barrier-free. 

The legal basis is the Accessibility Enhancement Act (BFSG) in conjunction with EU Directive 2019/882 and – for public bodies – the Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0).

State of compliance with the requirements

This website is currently partially compliant with the requirements of BITV 2.0 and WCAG 2.2 – conformance level AA.

Non-accessible content 

  • Individual PDF files and documents are not yet accessible.
  • Some content (e.g. maps or external widgets) is not yet fully usable with screen readers.
  • Not all images have alternative text that can be used by screen readers.
  • The audio files used have no subtitles and are not transcribed.
  • The video files used have no subtitles and are not transcribed.
  • Color contrasts and keyboard navigation are not yet fully optimized on some subpages.
  • Depending on the contrast value of the image, the copyright information on the images may not be sufficiently visible.
  • The texts displayed on the website are not additionally presented in plain language.
  • Not all content elements can be operated exclusively with the keyboard.
  • The fact element automatically counts up the numbers, which cannot currently be stopped.
  • The H markup of the headings is not yet properly maintained, which is why the correct and desired hierarchy of the headings is not yet in place.
  • Not all link titles on the website are properly maintained.

If no satisfactory solution has been found even after providing feedback to the contact person mentioned above, you can contact the Enforcement and Monitoring Body for Accessible Information Technology. After a period of six weeks, you have the right to contact the Enforcement and Monitoring Body directly. The Ombudsman's Office will attempt to determine the circumstances of the lack of accessibility, involving all parties involved, so that the provider can remedy the situation.
